Corpse

I used the corpse we designed in class as a type of concept art to draw and make a character out of.  I made them chubbier because thats how my character is that I took the head from.  Thats also the reason I made them green.  I tried to do a background, but honestly it is the first background Ive ever done and I did not really know how.

Logo Fini

I tried to use calm, welcoming colours for the logo so they would give a relaxed feeling.

Typo

This is very simple and Im not too happy with it, but I wasn't sure how to make it better.  I feel like this small assignment was pretty hard for where we were at the time, but I know other people made some pretty nice things.  The pen tool was the hardest thing about this, mostly because I was being stubborn and kept trying to use the pencil tool.

Logo critiques

This is the logo for one of America's first cat Cafes.  The design is very creative and the colours give off a very calming vibe.  The name is also very cute and overall the cafe seems to be aimed at upper middle class cat lovers.

This is the first cat cafe to be opened in Japan, and this art style is the one I formed mine after.  This one is my favorite because it has a more cutesy style that I feel matches these cafes the most. My only problem with this one is the position of the tail.  Cats rarely do that with their tail when their happy and while thats not really common knowledge I feel there is still a subconscious effect to it.  The tail should curve inwards over the sign.

This logo does not go to a cat cafe, in fact a cattery is a cat breeder of pedigrees and not even something I support.  The logo itself though is beautiful and I really love the lineless art the different colours are able to give it. In real life when cats do that with their tails it means they are very happy, so that plus the colours create a subtle but happy image.

I feel this one is far too complex, and I'm not a big fan of the art style.  This one is located in St. Pete, Fl so I feel this style matches its area with the colours it uses and the art style. This company is really just a bakery that delivers, so this is easily the type of logo meant to go on a car. It catches the attention quickly and the text is readable easily, the colours match a bakery setting.

This logo seems to target upper class due to the art style, slick lines, and smooth cat.  This has a very classic cafe feel, so it feels like a fresh take on an old thing.  With the placement of the tail the cat looks relaxed, but the expression isn't one you usually see in cat cafe logos.  This cat looks a bit judgemental and if the text at the bottom hadn't included adoption I would have assumed it was merely an average cafe logo that just happened to use a cat.

Logo sketches

My main goal with each was to make the f and e look like cat tails and I ran with that through each design.  I tried to incorporate a little mascot too so the brand would be more relatable and welcoming.  For some I tried to use a Paris cafe type look for the Ts and it created a cute old fashioned look.
